I’ve been looking forward to this photo trip for quite some time now. Cornwall is somewhere I’ve always loved to shoot landscapes and since our last visit I’ve had time to add to my wish list of locations. This time we managed to get to the very well hidden Porth Nanven on Friday evening. Although the sunset didn’t amount to all that I had hoped the colourful rock and interesting lines in the sand more than compensated.

Through the weekend we also managed to shoot in St Ives and back to Priests Cove despite being hampered by very low cloud. After a great weekend we stopped off on Bodmin at Golitha Falls, a stunning short walk with some amazing colour thanks to the neighbouring green pasture.

Much in need of a break from fitting our new kitchen I was very excited at the prospect of an afternoon portrait shoot down on the beach. Probably the hottest day of the year so far we were surprised to find the beaches relatively quiet due in part to what can only be described as ‘sport’. World Cup, Wimbledon and the Formula One all worked in our favour and all three of our locations gave up some great backdrops.

First up was Eastney Point in Southsea, followed by North Hayling Island and finally Bracklesham Bay Beach. Three locations, three outfits, a lot of fun.

Heat 2 of Red Funnel’s Red Hot Talent was held in Southampton on Wednesday evening at The Cube, Southampton University. I photographed the event on behalf of Red Funnel. Stage lighting once again and two final acts with some incredibly fast action which was challenging to say the least. Very high standards from the all the acts and the judges understandably found it difficult to separate them. Galleries from the shoot to appear on the Red Hot Talent website.
